Last week I posted about the shadows that I recieved from Terra Firma Cosmetics and this week I have all of the lipsticks, tints, glosses, mascaras, under eye powder and cream shadows! I hope you enjoy!!
*I didn't purchase anything in this review. I was sent a HUGE review package from Terra Firma because I love their stuff, I've RAVED about some of their products and they sent me a ton of stuff that I didn't have to try out and review for everyone. All opinions are just that; my opinions. I'm not being paid for any reviews or paid to review them in any specific way.*
First Blog Post with all of the other links [here]
First up are the two lipsticks, the one lip tint and the one lip gloss.
Two 2 Tango (lipstick) - This is a really warm red with some orange tones. If you bought the Halloween gloss from Shiro Cosmetics, I would say that this color matches it closely. It has just the right amount of orange to give it that warm look and just the right amount of red to balance everything out. I'm really liking it, I've worn it twice. The lipsticks go on pretty smooth and aren't drying at all. The staying power is about the same as a regular lipstick. If you're drinking out of a straw and not eating, expect it to last for 3-4 hours. If you're a lip licker, lip biter, or you're eating or drinking without a straw, expect it to be more of a stain after you're done. It's not drying and it feels very light on my lips.
Luscious Lucille (lipstick) - This is more of a blue based red. It can go on sheer and it's buildable. It's very wearable and since you can build the color, I would recommend it if you've never worn reds or you're a little scared of looking too bold. You can slowly build it up as you get more comfortable with it.
Tickled Pink (lip tint) - This is just a really nice wash of pink over your lips. Maybe you really like lip color or maybe you don't but you just want a touch of color. I was really surprised at how nice this color was. My lips aren't terribly pigmented and I don't always like to wear lip color (especially to work) so, this was a nice little surprise. I wear it just about every day to work. I've worn Two 2 Tango a few times to work too. It's really smooth and moisturizing and the color has a nice staying power if you're drinking from a straw and not eating. It can act as a bit of a stain but since it's so light and sheer, you can't really tell. I wear chapstick all the time so, I'm used to reapplying after eating anyway.
Doll Face Honey Lip Glaze - This is a really nice sheer pink with a bit of gold sparkle and sheen. It's another one of those nice neutral colors. It's VERY moisturizing and has the staying power of just about any gloss or glaze that I've ever tried. Drinks with straws, hours...anything else, get ready to reapply. I really enjoy this and my forever dry lips just love it.
Toasted (cream shadow) - This is a GORGEOUS coppery brown with amazing staying power. These are similar to paint post from MAC. They're great on their own or as bases and they can be smudged out to be lighter or put on it a patting motion to build them up and add more color. They're VERY pigmented.
Night Life (cream shadow) - This one is a stormy blue with a silver shift and sparkle. Toasted is more solid than Night Life but they both apply exactly the same. You have to rub Toasted a bit more to be able to apply it and Night Life is more like a soft cream so, just barely a dab gets you all you need. They also make pretty awesome liners.
Stacked High Performance Natural Mascara - Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of this on my lashes or comparisons for you, I only have pictures of the wand and packaging. I did go to apply it and the smell almost made me throw up. Now, it doesn't stink...it's a spearminty earthy smell and the combo just really sent me over the edge. So much so that I had to sit down and sip some Ginger Ale for a second. I know some people who have this mascara and absolutely love it but I was just unable to use it so, I apologize.
Bright Eyes Eye Brightener - This looks like a nice pearly pink in the bottle and rubs down into a sheer translucent pearl, much like a highlight would. It's basically the same thing in a bottle with a doe foot applicator. It's actually pretty nice, it's less shimmery than the highlight that I currently have and I like that. I use it on my brow bone quite a bit during the week when I wear my eyes fairly natural. It's supposed to be firming as well. I don't know, I haven't been using it for very long and I don't really have anything that needs firming but I can say that I enjoy using it and it's a great eye brightener/highlighter.
Hocus Pocus Full Coverage Under Eye Powder - This comes in regular and full coverage. I'm really glad that they sent me a full jar in the full coverage because I already had some that I ordered as a sample and I was almost out. This is like a nice multi-purpose concealer that is pretty creamy when blended out. I like applying this and then foundation over it with a concealer brush, it does wonders with my under eye circles. The pictures below are from a previous review using this product.

Before I even read your comment, I was thinking Tango reminded me of the Shiro Halloween gloss. It's such a pretty color. Night Life looks pretty. I'm sorry about the mascara, but I can relate. As much as SO many people love the Falsies, its scent really gets to me so I can't really use it.
ReplyDeleteI was so excited about Two 2 Tango when I swatched it and thought that because I LOVED that gloss and was so sad that it was limited edition! I wish that I could have used the mascara, I've been looking for a really great indie one but my senses just can't handle it. Like I said, it doesn't smell BAD it's just the combo of the minty and he earthy that's getting me, I think.
DeleteHello, I am new here. I just love the reviews you have done on the Terra Firma Cosmetics. I am looking at carrying this line for my business. I am a certified color consultant and licensed esthetician.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty much sold on their Hydra Silk foundation and Hocus Pocus but need a mascara. From your review and what M. says above I am terrified to order it. I don't want my clients to get nauseous when I go to apply it.
Do you have a suggestion for another safe mascara that I could order wholesale? This is really my only snag with Terra Firma. Thank you for any help that you may be able to offer it is greatly appreciated.
I've only ever tried two brands of indie mascaras and they have been from Terra Firma and Dark Heart Designs. I like Dark Heart's mascara and formula and I wear their mascara quite often. I've been wanting to try more companies but, unfortunately, not many indie brands have a mascara. I love everything from Terra Firma except the mascara, the earthy smell mixed with a minty smell was just too much for me.
DeleteThank you for the Dark Heart recommendation! Have you tried 100% Pure's mascara or Honeybee Gardens mascara? Both are available on Amazon and I am thinking of trying them. Amazon doesn't seem to carry Dark Heart. But I do want to try it since you like it.
DeleteI am getting my samples of Terra Firma today. I just tracked it an it should be here. It took a little longer for me to get it compared to what other people have said about the fast shipping. I ordered on the 5th of February and will get it today the 11th. Now, there was a weekend in there but I am in ABQ, NM so I was really hoping to get it on Saturday but I think the post office has stopped delivering on Saturdays now.
I've only tried the under eye cream from 100% Pure and I wasn't very impressed. It works alright, better than nothing for sure but, I still didn't love it enough to spend $20 on it. You can find Dark Heart at this link. http://darkheartdesigns.storenvy.com/
DeleteI love the look of the Doll Face Honey Lip Glaze! I hardly ever wear dramatic lips because I like to do dark lips so this is right up alley. Luscious Lucille looks amazing too, not so dark I'd feel weird with darker eye make up. I'm kinda diggin 2 to Tango too...gah.. There's a Terra Firma order of doom in my future!!
