Okay so here lately, there seems to be a lot of drama surrounding makeup and skin care and people in the 'beauty' industry. This includes owners, promoters, employees and even bloggers and vloggers like myself. I would just like to say fuckallofthat. I'm a grown woman and I'll be damned if I'm going to get in an argument with you over makeup. It's not that serious, homie.
Bitches Be Hatin'
If someone posts a look that they did and they're not applying their makeup like a professional, who the hell cares? First of all, if you don't get that makeup is about self expression and FUN, then GTFO no one wants to hear you. That's extremely rude and it hurts feelings and it makes people think that they aren't pretty. That's bullshit. You're all gorgeous and you all do an amazing job on your makeup. If you have a question about application methods or tips for something, you shouldn't be afraid to ask or post a photo of what you're talking about. If you see someone doing this, don't be an asshole. They're coming to you asking you for help, not asking you to be hateful. If they're not asking you anything at all, shut up. If they're trying then good for them. They deserve love and support.
Owners Be Brawlin'
Okay, this is mostly aimed at indie companies. As an owner, employee or promoter YOUR ACTIONS REFLECT AND DIRECTLY IMPACT THE COMPANY YOU'RE REPRESENTING. It doesn't matter how good your product is or how long you've been open for business, if you're surrounded by negativity you're going to lose business. You shouldn't be gossiping, sabotaging or supporting pages that do because it WILL come back to you. This makes you look incredibly immature and shady and it freaks people out and they don't even want to say that they use your products. You own a company. Grow up, girl.
Facebook Face-Off
If you have a FB page and there's someone else you don't like that also has one, the worst thing you can do is to gossip and be catty with them. People come to your page and like your page because of the content. Drama and ridiculous petty arguing is not in your description, I'm sure. If someone comes at you, apologize to your readers and drop it!!! Block them, report them or do whatever you need to do to stop their childish behavior but DO NOT argue back. Don't get on their level.
Sore Losers
If you enter a giveaway or a contest and you don't when, DO NOT bash whoever did. That's so disrespectful and hateful and makes you look like the biggest jerk on the planet. That person is happy because they won something and you're ruining it for them by being bitter just because you didn't win. That's not fair to them or the person holding the event. If you do this on my blog or FB page, you will be blocked.
Too Lazy To Win
If you don't to enter something because the person holding the event wants you to support their accounts on different sites, you're lazy. It's okay to be lazy, there's nothing wrong with it but it's not okay to bitch because you're lazy. Please remember that everyone holding giveaways and contests 95% of the time, have taken money out of their own pockets to pay for all of the prizes. You being mean about having to follow them on a handful of sites is a little ridiculous. The least you could do it click a link and then click a button. It's really simple.
I posted this because I've just seen too much hate lately. Too many people that are way too big for their britches hurting feelings, ruining reps and much more. It's unfair, it's unnecessary and it's old. We're all over it. I love you all, even if you're into drama and you're guilty of something in this post. I hope that you can take a step back and really understand the damage you can or could cause and I hope you can see that you're just wasting your time. We're all in this because we love it. LOVE it. So, love each other, there's already enough hate in this world. Makeup is our outlet, don't take that from anyone.
And please remember, this is supposed to be FUN. Have fun and respect and support one another.
*Because of recent drama in some indie companies (with each other), I'm no longer using products from them. I'm not saying who they are, that will just fan the fire, but I wont tolerate it and I surely wont promote it. I feel like promoting their products when they're all about the drama is also supporting and promoting drama.*

I try to avoid situations like these. I used to work in a high school and it reminds me of the gossiping and back stabbing I would see going on in the hallways (and not just by the students.)
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how people can be all grumpy about someone else winning a contest. Its all a gamble. I'm happy for the people who win. I don't get how people can be angry about things they didn't even enter.
If someone posts makeup I like, I usually comment saying so. If its not my cup of tea I just scroll on past. Everyone has their own taste, who am I to bash them for it?
Drama is so unnecessary but some people just feed off of it.
DeleteAmen girl.
